Fund of the Sacred Circle

The Fund of the Sacred Circle is directed toward grassroots groups or projects in Minnesota or Wisconsin engaged in social change organizing. Native American community activists working for social justice on a day-to-day basis, make the funding decisions for Fund of the Sacred Circle. This fund is a cooperative program with the Headwaters Foundation for Justice.

Funding Criteria

Organizing in Minnesota and/or Wisconsin.
Majority American Indian Leadership: community-based decision-making and governance.
Working for Social Justice: addressing the root causes of social, racial, political, environmental, or economic injustice.
Working in Alliance: knowledge of and collaboration with other groups working for social justice.
Limited Access: Budgets under $200,000 or unable to access mainstream funding sources.
We do not fund social service projects, individuals, or capital campaigns.

Application Deadline: August 1st or first working day of August.
